Twin sisters Sofía & Luisa were prematurely born on January 9 th , 2021 to parents Raquel T Tognetti and Miguel Gomez at Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, FL with each weighing 1 pound and 4 oz. Given their early age, they had to be transferred over night to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital where they remained at the NICU until they passed in the arms of their parents on their 1-month anniversary.

We are extremely proud of the fight our little angels put up day after day beating many challenges, however complications with their lungs and head hemorrhages continued to deteriorate until the Lord decided to take them on February 9 th. We feel blessed on having the opportunity to spend this time together and share our love knowing that we now have a couple of angels that will be looking after their parents and their older brother Leonardo helping them heal their broken hearts.

On Saturday May 8, Bishop Terry Villaire, passed from this life to his heavenly home.

Bishop Terry was a pioneer in the early days of LBBTQ spirituality in Wilton Manors. Bishop Terry was the Founding Pastor of Holy Angels National Catholic Church in 1996. Holy Angels was formed to proclaim, “Love Without Judgment” and to provide a spiritual home for LGBTQ Christians.

Prior to establishing the church, Bishop Terry worked as a hospital chaplain after leaving Michigan and moving to Florida. He was consecrated a Bishop in 2005 and served several years as the Presiding Bishop of the National Catholic Church of North America. He became Presiding Bishop Emeritus in July of 2016, and Pastor Emeritus of Holy Angels in December of 2017.

Bishop Terry has been with his partner John for 40 years, legally getting married in 2015. He has served the greater Ft. Lauderdale community for about 40 years. Serving all people regardless of creed, sexual orientation or race. Under his leadership, the church was quick to respond in service to those affected by AIDS and HIV, being a supporter for Shadowwood, a home where people could live with dignity. Over the past several decades many in our community have found peace and spiritual healing through Bishop Terry’s ministry.

Bishop Terry provided an opportunity for those called to priestly service to the People of God but not accepted by other denominations to answer God’s call. Many clergy found a home in the National Catholic Church, and through their renewed ministry served as a blessing to the people of God. He truly was a pastor’s pastor.

The world lost a wonderful woman on May 16, 2021, when Jessica Marie Martinez succumbed to horrendous Covid-19. She was born on September 11, 1985 to parents Nancy and Ore Skubish. Their joy as a united nuclear Family was completed with their children: Jessica, Christopher, Tina and Anna. Growing up in a household with four children was filled with excitement and plenty of growing discoveries.

As an adult, Jessica spent many years working at Express Scripts, a company whose specialty was filling and mailing prescription medications to peoples’ homes. She enjoyed the intricacies of her job and was well liked and respected. She excelled in that position right up until she became ill. She was hospitalized on March 29 and subsequently passed away on May 16.

Although she was gainfully employed, Jessica always adhered to the particulars of motherhood. One just needed to look at her son Ethan’s smiles and majestic glances at his mother to realize that theirs was a relationship made in Heaven. Its this expression of pure love that will allow Ethan to go through life with a sentiment of the loving foundation instilled by his relationship with his Mom. Although Jessica and her husband Martin produced just one child, the magnificence that united the Martinez Family centered on the love and dedication each parent provided to their child Ethan.

Jessica’s remains were cremated at the Guiding Light Crematorium of West Park, Florida. As we say our goodbyes to Jessica for now, we each remain satisfied that she touched our lives in such special ways. Jessica has gained the reward of spiritual graduation, which translates into Jessica’s Heavenly Reward. She is now in God’s Hands forevermore. May God Bless You All!!!!

Virginia DelGuidice, beloved matriarch to her family, which included nine children, nineteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren, died peacefully Tuesday January 11, 2022 at her home in Davie, Florida. She was 86 years old. Her nine surviving children are Vickie DelGuidice, Donna DelGuidice, Rudy DelGuidice, Diane Caraccio, Terri Kovolis, Jill DelGuidice, Gail DelGuidice, Gina Powers, and Tina Varella. She is also survived by her brothers, Frankie Dean of Maine and Bobby Dean of New York. A lifelong lover of horse racing, Virginia was born Virginia Mae Dean in 1935 in Hialeah, Florida to parents William Dean and Rosary Starita. Virginia’s earliest and fondest memories were those of hanging around with her brother Billy at the horse track where her father was a well-respected trainer. She explained one day that she and Billy relieved a neighbor’s yard of some tomatoes and subsequently ate them. She then, for the first time and what turned out to be her only time, got on a horse. As she told it, “I fell off the horse and relieved myself of the stolen tomatoes.” No more horses for “Honey,” the nickname Virginia’s brothers gave her growing up. Shortly after graduating John Adams High School in Ozone Park, New York, Virginia took a job as a secretary in the New York Racing Circuit. There she met the fun-loving Rudy DelGuidice, a jockey—and later in life, trainer. In her words, Virginia said, “I was bored and looking for an adventure,” and Rudy was just the right guy to provide it. On January 22, 1954, Rudy and Virginia eloped to Maryland. Virginia worked most of her adult life in the service industry, while Rudy worked at the track. They worked long hours and did what they had to do to provide for their kids. They always made sure they created loving memories for the family—memories such as outings at Haulover park, cookouts at any number of park pavilions, and days at John Lloyd Park. The family’s most favorite memories center around those of cooking Sunday dinners for not only the family, but also for whoever else might show up from the track. All were welcomed. While working at Carino’s Italian Restaurant in Miami, where she worked for 27 years, Virginia was adored and the favorite of many regular customers. Although there were many, she would always light up when talking about her favorite regulars, the BEE GEES.

In her later years, if she wasn’t riding around town on her three-wheel bicycle or talking about politics, Virginia loved to spend her time at Gulfstream racetrack. Although the races didn’t start until 1 pm, Virginia would be having her morning coffee at 9 AM, already dressed with her pink hat on her head and her Dollar Store red lipstick on her lip. She would explain that she had to be there first to claim her favorite table at the paddock before anyone else beat her to it. Virginia now joins Rudy, her loving husband of 49 years, who died in 2002, in the winner circle.

Make the most of the season by following these simple guidelines

The new season is a great reason to make and keep resolutions. Whether it’s eating well or cleaning out the garage, here are some tips for making and keeping resolutions.

    Make a list

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too.

    Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

    Reward yourself

When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back.

    Think positively

Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.

There are so many good reasons to communicate with site visitors. Tell them about sales and new products or update them with tips and information.

Here are some reasons to make blogging part of your regular routine.

Blogging is an easy way to engage with site visitors

Writing a blog post is easy once you get the hang of it. Posts don’t need to be long or complicated. Just write about what you know and do your best to write well.

    Show customers your personality

When you write a blog post, you can really let your personality shine through. This can be a great tool for showing your distinct personality.

Blogging is a terrific form of communication

Blogs are a great communication tool. They tend to be longer than social media posts, which gives you plenty of space for sharing insights, handy tips and more.

It’s a great way to support and boost SEO

Search engines like sites that regularly post fresh content and a blog is a great way of doing this. With relevant metadata for every post so search engines can find your content.

    Drive traffic to your site

Every time you add a new post, people who have subscribed to it will have a reason to come back to your site. If the post is a good read, they’ll share it with others, bringing even more traffic!

    Blogging is free

Maintaining a blog on your site is absolutely free. You can hire bloggers if you like or assign regularly blogging tasks to everyone in your company.

A natural way to build your brand

A blog is a wonderful way to build your brand’s distinct voice. Write about issues that are related to your industry and your customers.

Take a few moments to plan your post

Once you have a great idea for a post, write the first draft. Some people like to start with the title and then work on the paragraphs. Other people like to start with subtitles and go from there. Choose the method that works for you.

    Don’t forget to add images

Be sure to include a few high-quality images in your blog. Images break up the text and make it more readable. They can also convey emotions or ideas that are hard to put into words.

    Edit carefully before posting

Once you’re happy with the text, put it aside for a day or two, and then re-read it. You’ll probably find a few things you want to add and a couple more that you want to remove. Have a friend or colleague look it over to make sure there are no mistakes. When your post is error-free, set it up in your blog and publish.
